Thursday, Feb. 17

1:24 a.m. Officers were requested at Wilder Hall to assist with a student ill from alcohol consumption. The student was not able to walk on her own and was transported to Mercy Allen Hospital by ambulance.

11:30 a.m. A student reported the theft of her bicycle from the porch of Tank Hall. The bicycle is a small, blue men’s Bridgestone 200 road bike. The bicycle was not locked at the time of theft.

11:45 a.m. Officers were requested to assist an ill College visitor staying at the Oberlin Inn. The individual was transported to Mercy Allen Hospital by ambulance for treatment.

Friday, Feb. 18

1:36 p.m. A student reported the theft of a cellular phone while attending a party the previous night on College Street. The phone is a silver LG Arena touch screen, valued at approximately $400. A report was also filed with the Oberlin Police Department.

4:01 p.m. An officer on patrol observed graffiti on the west outside wall of a Campus Dining Services bakeshop cooler. It is unknown when the vandalism occurred. A work order was filed for removal.

7:35 p.m. Officers were requested to assist a student, ill possibly from drug-related consumption, at Dascomb Hall. The student was transported to Mercy Allen Hospital by ambulance.

Saturday, Feb. 19

1:24 a.m. Officers were requested at Dascomb Hall to assist with a student ill from alcohol consumption. The student was assisted to a security vehicle and transported to Mercy Allen Hospital for treatment.

1:27 a.m. Officers responded to a report of a bagged smoke detector in a room on the third floor of Kahn Hall. The room was entered, along with an RA. Found in plain view in the room was a bagged smoke detector, a baggie containing a green leafy substance consistent with marijuana, a bottle of alcohol, a glass water bong and an aluminum pipe. Items were confiscated and turned over to the Oberlin Police Department; alcohol was disposed of and covering was removed from smoke detector.

2:09 a.m. An officer on building patrol observed a bagged smoke detector in a room on the third floor of Kahn Hall. The occupant of the room was contacted and warned about bagging smoke detectors and smoking in the room.

1:25 p.m. A student reported the theft of approximately $200 from her room. The theft is under investigation.

Tuesday, Feb. 22

6:00 a.m. Officers were requested at the top of the Mudd Library ramp to assist a staff member who fell on the ice, injuring her wrist. The staff member was transported to Mercy Allen Hospital for treatment.

12:44 p.m. Officers were requested at the northeast corner of Peters Hall to assist with an ill student who had passed out. The student was transported to Mercy Allen Hospital by ambulance.

2:27 p.m. Officers and the Oberlin Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at Mudd Library. The activated alarm was found in the first-floor café and was activated by heat from a toaster oven. The oven was moved and the alarm reset.
