In Memory of Ammar Abo-El-Naga, OC ’21

The staff of The Oberlin Review extends our condolences to the family and friends of Ammar Abo-El-Naga, who died Aug. 21, 2018 at the age of 18. Ammar, a native of Egypt, studied neuroscience at Oberlin, where he was entering his sophomore year. As a Bonner Scholar, he frequently volunteered at both Oberlin Community Services and the local retirement community, Kendal at Oberlin. He was also active in the Muslim Student Association. A LaunchGood fundraising campaign has been created to help alleviate costs for his family, which at the time of publication had collected $1,060 of the $7,000 goal. The campaign can be found here.
