Thursday, April 19 1:15 a.m. Officers responded to a report of a light pole down in North Quad. A plastic dome was found broken and laying on the ground. The globe was taken to the Electric Shop and a work order was filed. 2:44 a.m. Officers were requested to assist a student who was not feeling well at Harkness Hall. The student was transported to Mercy Allen Hospital for treatment. 10:33 a.m. Officers and Oberlin Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at Kade House. A blow dryer being used too close to the smoke detector activated the alarm. Thursday, April 11 7:50 a.m. A staff member reported being verbally harassed as she crossed Woodland Street by an individual driving a tan SUV. 9:20 p.m. Officers were requested to assist a student whose arm got stuck in a window in Langston Hall. A maintenance technician responded and loosened the window brackets so the student was able to remove her arm. She declined medical attention. Friday, April 12 12:23 a.m. Officers and members of the Oberlin Fire Department responded to a fire alarm near the elevator on the third floor of South Hall. Friday, March 29 7:52 a.m. A member of the custodial staff reported a suspicious individual looking into vehicles in the Conservatory parking lot. The individual was described as being a 40- to 45-year-old male with blondish hair and beard, wearing a short black leather jacket. Officers checked the Conservatory and surrounding area, but the individual could not be located. 8:25 a.m. An officer on patrol observed non-offensive graffiti in yellow soluble marker on an electrical vault on the west side of Talcott Hall. Thursday, March 1 8:51 a.m. Custodial staff reported finding a light pole globe in a trash can at Burton Hall. The globe was transported to Facilities Operations. 11:31 a.m. Custodial staff reported a fire extinguisher missing from the first-floor east hallway at Zechiel House. The extinguisher was located on the north side of the building and was found to have been discharged. Friday, Feb. 17 10:15 a.m. A staff person reported the theft of a light from her bicycle while locked to the bike rack on the east side of Philips Gym. 2:44 p.m. Student reported the theft of a tire from his SE Draft Lite bicycle while in a storage area at Noah Hall. Thursday, April 28 1:25 a.m. Officers were alerted to a student sitting outside on a second floor window ledge at King Hall. The student said he climbed through a window to smoke a cigarette.
