The Yeomen picked up two big victories this week, dominating the Earlham College Quakers 86–55 and defeating the Kenyon College Lords 72–64 to improve to 5–2 on the season. On Sunday, the Yeomen were led by junior guard Jack Poyle’s 24-point effort and senior center and Review Sports editor Randy Ollie’s first double-double of the season, in which he racked up 16 points and 11 rebounds. After going into the locker room with a six-point lead at the half, the Yeomen exploded offensively in the second period, outscoring the Quakers 46–21. Player of the Week: Jack Poyle

Junior guard Jack Poyle netted 25 points in the Yeomen’s home opener Monday against the Muskingum University Fighting Muskies, shooting an efficient 9–14 on the night and netting nine rebounds. Poyle was recently named NCAC Player of the Week for his performance at Kalamazoo College, scoring 22 points and snagging 10 rebounds, garnering his first career double-double.
