Senior center and Review Sports editor Randy Ollie sets up a free throw against the Ohio Wesleyan University Bat­tling Bishops Wednesday night. Even though the Yeomen fell to their opponents 93–75, Ollie made the most of his last time on the Philips gym hardwood, netting a team-high 24 points for the night. This number only adds to Ollie’s already impres­sive tally for his Oberlin career, which surpassed 1,000 points after the Yeomen’s victory over the Allegheny College Gators on Feb. 10....

Historic Night Highlights Oberlin’s Victory

Looking to snap a three game skid, Wednesday night proved to be a night of milestones for the men’s basketball team as Oberlin defeated Allegheny College 74–56 at the David V. Wise Center in Meadville, PA. The victory marked the first time that the Yeomen have achieved seven wins in the NCAC since the 2001–2002 season. The women’s lacrosse team celebrated its Senior Day while playing the Denison University Big Red at the Austin E. Knowlton Athletic Complex last Saturday. After a highly competitive regulation period, the Wittenberg University Tigers snapped the Yeowomen’s six-game win streak in a nail-biting overtime victory on Tuesday, April 7. The men’s lacrosse team suffered its first loss last Saturday, falling 8–7 to the Capital University Crusaders in a back-and-forth battle. The Yeomen managed to stay within two goals for the entire fourth quarter but were ultimately unable to reclaim their early lead. Women’s Basketball Rallies Late Over Gators

The women’s basketball team withstood a second-half surge by the Denison University Big Red last Wednesday, getting 14 points from senior forward Christina Marquette and junior guard Lindsey Bernhardt in the extra period to win 62–54. Marquette and Bernhardt combined for 34 points in the victory, which included a combined 6–11 from three-point territory.
