Balancing academics, athletics, and other extracurriculars at an elite institution like Oberlin is a challenge that very few student-athletes manage to tackle for all four years. Last weekend, four different varsity teams at Oberlin honored their seniors and celebrated the contributions they have made in the classroom, in the community, and on their respective field or court over the past four years. College sophomores Marija Crook and Shannon Wargo compete in the 1,500-meter at the Bob Kahn Invitational Saturday. Crook won the race, crossing the line in 4:53.31. Wargo finished in 4:58.45. Both the men’s and women’s teams placed first at the meet.

The Yeomen and Yeowomen track and field teams invited 19 different teams — 9 women’s and 10 men’s — to their annual Bob Kahn Invitational for Senior Day, besting them all as they both claimed first place last weekend. Lords Eliminate Yeomen From Playoff Contention

The Yeomen fell to their rival Kenyon Lords 2–0 on Wednesday, dropping them to 7–8–2 and 3–5–0 in North Coast Athletic Conference play. The game also crushed their playoffs hopes. The women’s lacrosse team celebrated its Senior Day while playing the Denison University Big Red at the Austin E. Knowlton Athletic Complex last Saturday.
