In “Shifts in Oberlin Campus Life Disorients Students”, (The Oberlin Review, Mar. 1, 2024), there is a discrepancy about the outsourcing of jobs from Oberlin dining services to AVI Foodsystems. The article states that the switch to AVI “led to the loss of as many as 100 unionized jobs.” AVI maintained every UAW team member that wanted to stay employed at Oberlin dining services. AVI also agreed to honor all seniority, rates of pay, and other benefits that these workers had prior to the transition. Therefore, the transition to AVI did not result in the loss of 108 union jobs but rather the outsourcing of these jobs. The Review apologizes for this error.
