Alison Scott Ricker, former Head of the Oberlin College Science Library, passed away May 14, at age 70.
Alison played an active role in a wide variety of local organizations and communities. Among other things, Alison was president of the Oberlin area League of Women Voters, co-president of the State of Ohio League, co-leader of Citizens’ Climate Lobby Lorain County chapter, a longtime member of Oberlin’s Musical Union, and president of the Lorain County chapter of The Order of the Daughters of the King.
Alison also spent 40 years as head of the Science Library, during which she played a central role transitioning the Science Library’s primarily print-based collection online.
Ricker is survived by her husband, Ray English, and their sons, John and Michael.
