When I think of what is needed to be in any political position, the first things that come to my mind are experience, integrity, and compassion. Farah Lillian Emeka, OC ’97, who has stepped up to run for Oberlin Municipal Court Judge, embodies all three.
With seven years of experience as the Oberlin Municipal Court Prosecutor, seven years in the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office as a managing attorney, and 20 years of experience in the legal areas of business, probate, estate, family law, and civil litigation, Farah has the experience needed.
As a graduate of Oberlin College, and with a law degree cum laude from Seattle University School of Law, she has a foundation of integrity upon which she has been formed by her experience for service as a municipal judge.
Her participation in our community as President of the Oberlin Board of Education and as chair of the Lorain County Urban League Board has shown her to be a person of passionate compassion with an unwavering commitment to the principles of fairness and justice.
And, I have seen Farah at work personifying the values of fairness and justice along with compassion and patience as a servant leader in the role of court prosecutor. We will be well served with Farah Lillian Emeka in the role of Oberlin Municipal Court Judge.
