Thursday, Feb. 8, 2018 5:46 p.m. A student reported that they were approached and punched by an unknown man while walking through Tappan Square at approximately 1:30 a.m. The man then ran in an unknown direction. The incident is under investigation. 6:00 p.m. While patrolling the Adam Joseph Lewis Center, a Safety and Security officer found an expended fire extinguisher near an electrical transformer. When Lorenzo’s Pizzeria owner Larry Cariglio went to use his generator for a catering job on the morning of Oct. 15, he had a problem — the generator wasn’t there. Sometime between Friday at midnight and Saturday morning, someone walked into the pizzeria’s unlocked storage shed and stole the red Honda generator estimated to be worth more than $1,000. The very next night, burglars struck again. According to Cariglio’s account of surveillance footage, at around 4 a.m. on Oct. 16 a burglar pried open a door with a pizza peel, walked through the dining room to the back door and let another person into the restaurant.  1:29 p.m. Officers were requested to assist a student who fell and injured their knee at Stevenson Dining Hall. The student was given an ice pack and transported to their Village Housing unit at their request. 2:13 p.m. Facilities staff reported a bagged smoke detector in a Union Street Housing Complex unit. Thursday, April 21 12 p.m. Facilities staff reported graffiti in the men’s restroom of the Service Building. The drawing was a figure done in marker. A work order was filed for cleanup. 6:44 p.m. A student reported a strong odor of marijuana on the first floor of Barrows Hall. Officers responded and traced the odor to a room. Though nothing was found burning, officers confiscated and disposed of alcohol that was in plain view. 10:11 p.m. Officers and members of the Oberlin Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at Firelands Apartments.
