1:01 p.m. Custodial staff reported a bagged smoke detector in the second-floor lounge area of Barrows Hall. A Campus Safety officer responded and removed the plastic bag from the detector.
Saturday, Jan. 8, 2022
1:25 p.m. Officers, Oberlin Fire Department members, and an electrician responded to a fire alarm on the first floor of Talcott Hall. Upon arrival, officers observed that the first-floor kitchen and dining area were filled with steam from a damaged radiator. A maintenance technician shut off the valves leading to the radiator until repairs were made, and the smoke detectors were repaired and reset by the electrician.

6:48 p.m. Officers, Oberlin Fire Department members, and an electrician responded to a fire alarm on the second floor of Burton Hall. Condensation from a steaming kettle under the detector activated the alarm. The detector was repaired and the alarm was reset.
Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2022
3:55 p.m. Officers, Oberlin Fire Department members, and an electrician responded to a pull station activation at the Heisman Club Field House. Upon arrival, they found that the pull station in question was not fully seated in the wall. The pull station was repaired and the alarm was reset.
Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2022
4:40 a.m. A student who was feeling unwell requested a transport from Baldwin Cottage to Mercy Allen Hospital for treatment. An officer responded and drove the student to the hospital.
