Thursday, April 7

2:47 p.m. A resident of Langston Hall reported the theft of a Wii console, sensor bar, power cables, a Wiimote and nunchuck from his room sometime over Spring break. Estimated value of the missing items is $300.

8:47 p.m. Officers and Oberlin Fire Department responded to a fire alarm on the first floor of Barrows Hall. The alarm was activated by smoke from burnt food. The alarm was reset with no further problems.

Friday, April 8

1:36 a.m. Officers and Oberlin Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at the Union Street apartments. The cause of the alarm was smoke from burnt food. The alarm was silenced and reset. A work order was filed to have the stove cleaned.

8:48 a.m. An individual visiting a student reported the theft of his laptop from a Village Housing unit on College Street. The laptop is a Macbook Pro, 13”, silver in color, valued at $1,300.

1:09 p.m. Officers were requested to assist with a staff member stuck in the elevator at South Hall. An electrician also responded and was able to get the elevator working. Medical attention was offered, but declined at this time.

9:40 a.m. A Museum Security Office reported a staff member of the museum injured his left middle finger while installing storage cabinets. Medical attention was declined at the time of report.

Saturday, April 9

1:40 a.m. An officer on routine patrol in the area of Langston Hall heard several individuals yelling in the area of Union Street. Several subjects having a disagreement were separated and sent on their way.

2:58 a.m. An officer on patrol observed a vehicle with the passenger rear door open in Philips Gym parking lot. The owner was contacted; an inspection of the vehicle was completed and nothing was found missing. The vehicle was secured.

5:53 p.m. Officers and Oberlin Fire Department responded to a fire alarm on the second floor of South Hall. Burnt food was found to be the cause of the alarm. The alarm was silenced and reset.

10:55 p.m. An officer was requested to assist with a student under the influence of alcohol at Wilder Hall. The student was transported to his dorm; no medical attention was needed at the time.

11:48 p.m. An officer was requested to assist with a student who attempted to gain entry to an event at Wilder Hall by stealing a wristband. The student apologized for his actions and left the area.

Sunday, April 10

12:16 a.m. An officer was requested at Wilder Hall to assist with a student attempting to gain entry to an event with an altered wristband. The student was denied entry and transported to her dorm.

9:09 a.m. Officers on patrol at Noah Hall observed a female, non-student, sleeping in the lounge. The student was awakened and advised she was staying with a friend in Noah and got locked out. The individual was escorted from the building.

1:55 p.m. A student reported the theft of his wallet from an unlocked practice room in Robertson. The wallet is a black tri-fold and contained credit cards, business cards, driver’s license and approximately $500.00 in cash.

1:46 p.m. The College locksmith reported that unknown person(s) vandalized the lock on the door to the men’s Lacrosse locker room. The black plastic battery cover was pried, breaking a piece of the plastic and the batteries removed. The lock was repaired and a work order was filed for a new replacement cover.

4:10 p.m. A student reported the theft of her bicycle from the bike rack at Johnson House. The bicycle is a light blue Schwinn Cruiser, with a Princeton registration sticker, valued at approximately $100.00. The bicycle was locked at the time of theft.

Monday, April 11

1:17 a.m. Officers and Oberlin Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at Union Street apartments. Smoke from burnt food activated the alarm. The alarm was reset and a work order was filed to have the stove cleaned.

4:01 p.m. A resident of Harkness reported the theft of his laptop from his unlocked room sometime over Spring break. The laptop is an HP 17.5”, black with silver gear shaped designs, valued at $1100.

5:15 p.m. A student reported the theft of an iPhone 4 from an unlocked locker in the men’s locker room at Philips Gym, men’s locker room. The iPhone is black in color and valued at $300.

8:42 p.m. Officers responded to Harkness Hall after receiving a report of students shooting a BB gun from a third floor window. The students responsible were located and a BB gun along with several other items was confiscated.

Tuesday, April 12

7:21 p.m. Officers and Oberlin Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at Lord House. Students were frying donuts and smoke from the hot grease activated the alarm. The alarm was silenced and reset.

4:30 p.m. A resident of Harkness Hall reported the theft of a college-owned camera from his unlocked room. The camera is a Cannon Vixia HF, black in color, valued at approximately $900 – $1,500. The theft is under investigation.
