Conservatory senior Alex Tasker plays the didgeridoo, an indigenous Australian instrument, as part of an original eight-minute-long TIMARA composition by Conservatory senior Hunter Brown. The piece, “Bent and Blunted,” was included in the Student Composers Concert that took place in Warner Concert Hall last night, which included rousing performances from various instrumentalists. Composers showed off an impressive range of styles. The concert included Conservatory sophomore Yizhang Liu’s music for solo clarinet performed by Conservatory senior Blaine Xiong and a three-minute-long electronic piece by double-degree sophomore Joseph Misterovich called “Untitled (drone),” which was played in the dark.
