College Lanes Says Hello, Offers Special Rates
September 28, 2012
It’s your old neighbor the College Lanes here. How are you all? I haven’t seen some of you in a while, and others I see quite often, which is such a pleasure. For those of you who haven’t stopped by recently, and for those of you who I have never met, why so shy? Have I done something to offend you? Did you have a less than ideal bowling or billiards experience? If you did, I sincerely apologize and would like to make it up to you. I can do this by telling you about all of the wonderful things I will be doing this year.
To start, I would like to tell you about my regular open bowling hours.
Monday 12 p.m.–2 p.m. Tuesday 3:30 p.m.–6 p.m. (free with student Oberlin College ID) Wednesday 12 p.m.–9 p.m. Thursday 12:30 p.m.–2:45 p.m. Friday 12 p.m.–2 p.m. and 4 p.m.–12 a.m. Saturday 12 p.m.–12 a.m. Sunday 1 p.m.–5:30 p.m.
Now, of course you should probably always call before you come visit because I might have a birthday party or a group (special rates available!), or maybe I’m just having a busy day. But that doesn’t mean I don’t want you to come visit another time! I have some pretty awesome rates, and some special deals that might be of some interest to you.
Bowling Rates: $2.50 per person per game and $1 for shoe rental Before 6 p.m. every day: 3 games+1 shoe rental= $6.50 and Seniors (Age 55+) $1.25 per game! Billiards Rates: $4.80 per table per hour (that’s 8 cents a minute!)
More cool things that are going on for me this year are all of the awesome leagues that meet every week. Check them out; there are some beautiful people doing some beautiful bowling together over here!
Oberlin Classic: Mondays at 7 p.m. USBC Adults, $13 Oberlin Seniors: Tuesdays at 1 p.m. Non-Certified, Age 55+, $3.50 Kaydettes: Tuesdays at 7 p.m. USBC Women, $9 Pindusters: Wednesdays at 1 p.m. Non-Certified Women, Regular Rate Oberlin Juniors: Thursdays at 4:30 p.m. USBC Youth/Instruction, $7 Thursday Keglers: Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. Non-Certified Intramural, $4 Sunday Keglers: Sundays at 6:30 p.m. Non-Certified Intramural, $4
I also have some great events every now and again. The most recent ones were the Autumn Pin Harvest and the 9 Ball Tournament. Congratulations to our Harvest Champions Griffin Sabelli and Mike Martinez! You guys nailed it; I was very proud. That’s sort of what I love about being the College Lanes. I get to see a lot of different kinds of people come together, relax, play a few games and have an all around good time. It’s the sense of community and family that I just can’t get enough of. And it’s not just you lovely people that come to visit me; it’s the amazing staff that keeps me going. Between the lane attendants keeping my shoes clean, Mike McComb tying all of my loose ends, and Tom Reid making sure my pinsetters are running properly, I have the best staff a bowling alley could ask for! All in all, the college lanes is a good place to bowl, so come visit me at 180 W. Lorain St., or learn more about all of the wonderful things I’m doing at my websites. There’s Oberlin.edu/bowling, my Facebook account, facebook.com/college.lanes, my twitter account, @CollegeLanes, and my Tumblr account, collegelanes.tumblr.com. Plus, if you have an iPhone, check out my Instagram account, @collegelanes. I’m here for you, Oberlin community!
