Thursday, April 7
8:57 a.m. Staff reported graffiti on the “LEEDS” parking sign north of the Kohl Building. The graffiti was written with a white paint marker. A work order was filed for clean up.
10:10 a.m. Wilder Hall staff recovered a black bag found in the ’Sco, which contained marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The items were turned over to the Oberlin Police Department.
12:18 a.m. Facilities staff reported an exit sign pulled down by a group of students on the first floor of South Hall. The sign was temporarily re-hung until repairs were made.
3:20 a.m. Officers were requested to assist with a student, ill from alcohol consumption, on the third floor of Noah Hall. After speaking with the officers, the student returned to their room for the night.
Friday, April 8
4:26 p.m. An officer on routine rounds of East Hall found a shattered glass panel in the east door of Mahan wing. No one was in the area, and no projectile was located. A work order was filed for repair.
Saturday, April 9
2:10 a.m. Officers responded to assist an intoxicated individual in the first-floor lobby of Dascomb Hall. The individual was visiting a student. Officers contacted the student and transported the visitor to their location.
Sunday, April 10
12:02 a.m. Officers responded to a report of marijuana smoke in a Burton Hall dorm room. Officers observed a bagged smoke detector, a glass bong and a glass jar containing a leafy substance consistent with marijuana. The bag was removed from the detector and the bong and glass jar were confiscated and turned over to the Oberlin Police Department.
1:38 a.m. Officers were requested to assist a student ill from alcohol consumption at Langston Hall. The student was transported to Mercy Allen Hospital for treatment.
12:15 p.m. A student reported to an officer that they had slipped on ice and fallen early Sunday morning on the West side of Mahan Wing in East Hall. The student was treated for a broken ankle at Mercy Allen Hospital.
2:52 p.m. Officers were requested to assist a student who dislocated their shoulder at Warner Center while dancing. The student was transported to Mercy Allen Hospital for treatment.
3:31 p.m. A student told an officer that they suffered a concussion after falling on black ice on the west side of Burton Hall. The student was transported to Mercy Allen Hospital for treatment.
7:44 p.m. Officers and members of the Oberlin Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at Union Street Housing Complex. Hair spray caused the alarm, which was silenced and reset.
Monday, April 11
9:06 a.m. An officer on patrol observed a student smoking a cigarette on the dormer roof at Harkness House. The officer contacted the student and told them to leave the roof. A work order was filed to repair the screens.
11:45 a.m. A student reported the theft of their green Fusion CityGlide scooter from the south side of the Science Center. The scooter was locked to the bike rack at the time of theft.
5:06 p.m. An officer responded to a report of marijuana smoke on the second floor of Saunders House. The officer contacted the occupant who denied smoking anything in the room. A metal grinder containing what appeared to be a green leafy substance consistent with marijuana was in plain view. The grinder was confiscated and turned over to the Oberlin Police Department.
5:25 p.m. Staff at Mudd library reported locating a clear glass bottle, containing what appeared to be a green leafy substance consistent with marijuana, on the third floor. An officer picked up the item, and it was turned over to the Oberlin Police Department.
Tuesday, April 12
2:41 a.m. Officers and members of the Oberlin Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at a Goldsmith Street Housing Complex. Steam from a nearby shower activated a detector in a third floor hallway, which was silenced and reset.
