Thursday, May 2, 2019 7:01 a.m. Campus Safety officers and members of the Oberlin Fire Department responded to a fire alarm in a room on the third floor of South Hall. While in the room in question, two bongs, a grinder, and glass jar containing a substance consistent with marijuana were observed in plain view. The items were turned over to the Oberlin Police Department. Facilities Operations responded to replace the smoke detector and the alarm was reset. 11:00 p.m. Officers responded to an anonymous report of a non-student inside Talcott Hall who was not supposed to be on campus. Thursday, April 25, 2019 12:32 a.m. Campus Safety officers responded to a report of an unauthorized individual attending a student event at the ’Sco in Wilder Hall. The area was checked but the individual had left prior to the officers’ arrival. 9:02 p.m. A student reported the theft of their laptop from the third-floor center commons area in King Building. The laptop was left unattended for a short period of time. Photos were taken and a work order filed for repair. 10:21 a.m. A student reported the theft of their bicycle from the east side of Wilder Hall. The bike is a blue, 21-speed Giant with a back rack. The bicycle is registered and was locked at the time of theft. 1:23 p.m. Safety and Security officers and members of the Oberlin Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at Peters Hall. Electricians responded for repair. 1:06 p.m. A Safety and Security officer assisted an injured student on the east side of Bibbins Hall who fell backward over their bicycle and caught their ankle in the chain, creating a deep laceration. Thursday, Sept. 8 1:36 p.m. A resident of South Hall reported that an unknown person entered their unlocked room during the night and took approximately $60 from a pair of shorts that was later found in the hallway. Friday, Sept. 9 2:46 a.m. A resident of South Hall reported two unknown individuals taking money from their room. The individuals were identified, arrested and charged as a result of the theft. 11:14 p.m. Safety and Security officers responded to an unauthorized par- ty complaint at a village house on Wood- land Street and dispersed approximately 80 students. A work order was filed for cleanup. 6:44 p.m. A student reported a strong odor of marijuana on the first floor of Barrows Hall. Officers responded and traced the odor to a room. A work order was filed for clean up. 10:10 a.m. Wilder Hall staff recovered a black bag found in the ’Sco, which contained marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
