Friday, Nov. 30, 2018 10:45 a.m. Officers were requested to assist an injured student at a Village Housing Unit on Elm Street. The student was transported to Student Health Center and then Mercy Allen Hospital for treatment. 6:19 p.m. Staff reported graffiti in the men’s restroom in the basement of Wilder Hall. Thursday, Nov. 22 12:13 a.m. A student reported that a suspicious, unidentified male knocked on their door. The student answered the door, and the male apologized and said he was at the wrong room. The student was advised to call Campus Safety immediately if the incident occurred again. Friday, Nov. 23 12:13 a.m. Officers and members of the Oberlin Fire Department responded to a fire alarm on the second floor of Barrows Hall. The alarm had been activated by smoke from melted plastic on a stove burner. An ambulance was requested, and the student was transported to Mercy Allen Hospital for treatment. 1:30 p.m. Officers were requested to assist with a safety inspection violation in a room on the second floor of Tank Hall. Thursday, Oct. 25, 2018 2:45 p.m. College staff reported that two posters were cut in half in the Bent Corridor of the Science Center. Friday, Oct. 26, 2018 7:02 a.m. Custodial staff reported graffiti in the men’s restroom on the main floor of Wilder Hall. A work order was filed for cleanup. 10:41 a.m. College staff reported a double doors leading into the pool area at Hales Gymnasium were tampered with. Screws were taken out of the hasp, disabling the lock. A work order was filed for repair. 5:40 p.m. Student staff at Oberlin College Lanes reported the glass in the door to the bowling lanes was accidentally broken because a visitor fell into it. Thursday, Feb. 8, 2018 5:46 p.m. A student reported that they were approached and punched by an unknown man while walking through Tappan Square at approximately 1:30 a.m. The man then ran in an unknown direction. The incident is under investigation. 6:00 p.m. While patrolling the Adam Joseph Lewis Center, a Safety and Security officer found an expended fire extinguisher near an electrical transformer. Thursday, April 30 6:41 a.m. A custodial staff member reported vandalism to the Langston Hall sign north of the dorm. At the time of the report, the sign had only one vertical post with the address. While investigating, officers found an unregistered bicycle in the dumpster behind Union Street apartments. A work order was filed for removal of the bicycle. 8:12 a.m. Members of the grounds staff reported a vehicle parked perpendicular in the Union Street parking lot.
