Thursday, Oct. 4 12:41 a.m. An officer on patrol at Hales Gym observed that the interior door of the Art Studio was open. The officer checked the surrounding area and locked the door. 1:30 a.m. Officers responded to a Firelands apartment to assist with an ill, unresponsive student. Upon arrival they found that the student had already been taken to Mercy Allen Hospital for treatment. 7:34 a.m. A staff member reported the theft of the hood emblem from his vehicle while parked in Kettering lot. The theft occurred sometime between 10:45 p.m. on Oct. 3 and 7:30 a.m. on Oct. 4. Thursday, Sept. 27 4:22 a.m. An officer on patrol observed a light out on a light pole near East Hall. A work order was filed. Friday, Sept. 28 1:44 a.m. Officers were requested to assist a student who was ill from alcohol consumption at Tank Hall. The student was transported to Mercy Allen Hospital by ambulance. 7:31 a.m. Officers and members of the Oberlin Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at a Union Street apartment that was caused by smoke from hot grease. Wednesday, Sept. 12 10:19 p.m. At approximately 10:19 p.m., a student reported that an unknown subject entered his room in East Hall. He appeared to have been going room to room on the second floor, taking small electronic devices. After conversing with the male student, the suspect became confrontational and a scuffle ensued. The suspect dropped the stolen items and an unloaded BB gun before fleeing on foot. The suspect was described as a young white male, red hair, tan with freckles, spoke with a southern accent, wearing a yellow shirt, and carrying a black backpack. Thursday, Sept. 20 2:01 a.m. Officers responded to a noise complaint at a Goldsmith apartment. Occupants were advised to turn the music down and complied. 7:55 a.m. The owner of a recovered bookbag was notified to pick it up from the Security Office. Upon taking an inventory of the bag, the student found that drawing pens (valued at $50), a laptop charger and two prescriptions were missing. 9:38 a.m. Officers responded to a report of vandalism at a Village housing unit on Lorain Street. An inventory will be taken to determine if anything is missing. 12:30 p.m. Staff at Wilder Hall reported an individual at the ’Sco who is on the College trespass notice. Thursday, April 11 7:50 a.m. A staff member reported being verbally harassed as she crossed Woodland Street by an individual driving a tan SUV. 9:20 p.m. Officers were requested to assist a student whose arm got stuck in a window in Langston Hall. A maintenance technician responded and loosened the window brackets so the student was able to remove her arm. She declined medical attention. The individual was described as being a 40- to 45-year-old male with blondish hair and beard, wearing a short black leather jacket.
