Thursday, March 17 10:30 a.m. Custodial staff reported a burning odor in Langston Hall. Officers found a student burning incense on the second floor. The incense and holder were confiscated and the student was advised of College incense policies. 11:25 a.m. A student reported the theft of a sweatshirt and laptop from a locked practice room in the Kohl Building. The laptop is an Apple MacBook Pro, valued at $1,400. The theft is under investigation. 12:30 p.m. Officers and Oberlin Fire Department responded to a fire alarm on the third floor of Barrows Hall. Thursday, March 3 9:50 a.m. A staff member reported the loss of his laptop computer from the first floor of Wilder Hall. The laptop is a Mac and was in a black canvas bag. A search of the area provided no results. Investigation continues. 9:13 a.m. Officers were requested to assist a student who struck her head while attempting a backward roll at Warner Center. The student was transported to Mercy Allen Hospital for treatment. 11:48 a.m. Residential Life staff confiscated a BB gun from off-campus housing during a Life Safety inspection. Thursday, Feb. 24 4:01 a.m. Officers and the Oberlin Fire Department responded to a fire alarm on the third floor of Dascomb Hall. The alarm was activated by smoke from burnt popcorn. The area was cleared and the alarm reset. 6:36 p.m. Officers and the Oberlin Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at Talcott Hall. The area was checked and found to be clear. Thursday, Feb. 17 1:24 a.m. Officers were requested at Wilder Hall to assist with a student ill from alcohol consumption. The student was not able to walk on her own and was transported to Mercy Allen Hospital by ambulance. 11:30 a.m. A student reported the theft of her bicycle from the porch of Tank Hall. The bicycle is a small, blue men’s Bridgestone 200 road bike. Thursday, Feb. 10 5:33 p.m. Officers and the Oberlin Fire Department responded to a fire alarm on the second floor of East Hall. The cause of the activation was found to be smoke from burnt food. The area was cleared and the alarm reset. Friday, Feb. 11 12:31 a.m. An officer on routine patrol of Langston Hall, detected a strong odor of marijuana from a room on the first floor. Contact was made with occupants of the room, who denied smoking.
