  Friday, April 14 1:35 p.m. A Safety and Security offi­cer assisting a student at a Village Hous­ing Unit on Professor Street found drug paraphernalia, which contained a sub­stance consistent with burnt marijuana. A bong was confiscated and turned over to the Oberlin Police Department. 3:15 p.m. A South Hall resident re­ported the theft of medication from their room. A report was also filed with the Oberlin Police Department, which is investigating the issue. 10:42 p.m. Officers, members of the Oberlin Fire Department and a College electrician assisted students stuck in the elevator in South Hall. Thursday, April 6 11:15 a.m. Conservatory staff reported that posters advertising performances were torn down from various areas in the Conservatory. The incident is under investigation. 4:36 p.m. Safety and Security officers assisted an injured staff member at the Philips gym weight room. The individual received a 3–4-inch laceration on their head when a hook fell o a rack, striking them. The individual went to the emergency room on their own. Friday, April 7 10:36 a.m. Custodial staff at Langston Hall reported a student near the first floor with what appeared to be grafiti supplies. The student left the area prior to an officer’s arrival. Grafiti was found in the area, and a work order was led for cleanup....

Thursday, March 30 1:16 a.m. A Safety and Security officer on a routine security check of Finney Chapel encountered four students inside the building. The students said that they didn’t think they should be in the building but found a door unlocked and entered. The students were identified and asked to leave the premises. 2:24 a.m. An Asia House resident reported hearing a noise in the hallways outside of their room. When they checked the hallway, they found glass from a ceiling light shattered on the floor. Friday, March 24 6:30 p.m. A student reported the theft of two duffle bags, a purse and two pairs of shoes from their room at Firelands Apartments sometime between March 17 and March 24. Safety and Security officers and members of the Oberlin Police Department responded for a report. The theft is under investigation. Saturday, March 25 7:29 p.m. Officers and members of the Oberlin Fire Department responded to a fire alarm, set off by smoke from a dirty oven, at a Union Street housing unit. The smoke was cleared and the alarm reset. The residents were advised not to use the oven until it was cleaned. Thursday, March 2 1:32 p.m. Staff reported that unknown people made unauthorized access to the roof of Mudd library to hang a banner on the east side of Mudd. The banner was non-offensive in nature and was removed from the roof. 2:24 p.m. Safety and Security officers and Oberlin Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at Mudd library from the first floor restroom. Friday, Feb. 24 3:18 a.m. Safety and Security officers responded to an alarm, which was missing the detector head, on the second floor of Baldwin Cottage. A student resident admitted to burning a candle earlier, and repairs were made to the alarm. Security Advisory A resident of Huron, Ohio, David K. Schindley, has been arrested on suspicion of spying on and recording cell-phone video of Oberlin College residential buildings as well as other residencies in the area from January and early February. Friday, Feb. 3 12:58 p.m. Safety and Security officers and members of the Oberlin Police Department responded to a motor vehicle accident in the Stevenson Dining Hall parking lot. There were no injuries. Insurance information was exchanged between drivers. 9:31 p.m. Officers responded to a complaint of an odor of marijuana on the second floor of Burton Hall. Upon entering, officers found a bag containing a substance consistent with marijuana and that the smoke detector was covered. Thursday, Nov. 24 3:49 p.m. A Safety and Security officer on routine patrol noticed the roof hatch open on Johnson House. Upon checking the area, the officer found that the door leading to the roof hatch was unlocked and clothing was on the doorknob. No one was found in the area. A work order was filed to replace the padlock. 5:06 p.m. An officer conducting building security checks located an open window on the northwest side of Saunders House with a fan on drawing air from the room.
