 6:10 p.m. Staff at Philips gym reported the theft of an iPad Air and cell phone from a locked office. Safety and Security and members of the Oberlin Police Department responded to the scene. The theft is under investigation. 10:50 p.m. Safety and Security officers and members of the Oberlin Police Department responded to an accident involving a motor vehicle and a bicycle on Professor Street near Kade House. Thursday, Oct. 22 8:27 p.m. Student staff requested that officers pick up three bottles of wine found in the second floor kitchenette of Asia House. The wine was transported to the Security Office, where it was disposed. Friday, Oct. 23 4:32 a.m. Custodial staff reported water in the basement of the biology section of the Science Center. Officers responded and observed water leaking from the ceiling heating unit into the coils. The facilities manager on call was notified and maitenance staff responded. Thursday, Oct. 1 5:53 p.m. Facilities staff reported the theft of copper piping from a College-owned house on East Lorain Street. Members of the Oberlin Police Department also responded. 8:15 p.m. Officers were requested to assist with a safety inspection at Saunders House. Friday, Sept. 25 5:45 p.m. Officers and the Oberlin Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at the Union Street Housing Complex. An electric pan cooking muffins activated the alarm, which was silenced and reset. 10:34 p.m. Officers and members of the Oberlin Fire Department responded to a fire alarm in the basement level of Asia House. Smoke from burnt food activated the alarm, which was cleared and reset. Saturday, Sept 26 12:58 a.m. Officers were requested to assist a student ill from alcohol consumption on Vine Street. Thursday, Sept. 17 12:16 a.m. Officers responded to a loud noise complaint at a Village Housing unit on South Professor Street. Students agreed to leave the area. A second complaint was filed at 2:16 a.m. Officers contacted the students and told them the music would have to be taken inside. Monday, Aug. 31 10:48 a.m. A student reported a suspicious person near her practice room in Robertson Hall, along with $50 missing from her purse. Officers and members of the Oberlin Police Department responded and checked the interior and exterior of the building but the individual was not located. 2:35 p.m. A student reported she lost a key in the area between Peters Hall and Allencroft House and requested to be notified if it is located. 6:30 p.m. Officers and members of the Oberlin Fire Department responded to a fire alarm in the kitchen of Keep Cottage. Thursday, April 30 6:41 a.m. A custodial staff member reported vandalism to the Langston Hall sign north of the dorm. At the time of the report, the sign had only one vertical post with the address. While investigating, officers found an unregistered bicycle in the dumpster behind Union Street apartments. A work order was filed for removal of the bicycle. 8:12 a.m. Members of the grounds staff reported a vehicle parked perpendicular in the Union Street parking lot. Thursday, March 26 2:37 p.m. A staff member at Philips gym reported vandalism to a door in the northeast hall. The door had been separated and broken. 5:27 p.m. Officers and members of the Oberlin Fire Department responded to a fire alarm on the fourth floor of Mudd library. An activated duct smoke detector was determined to be the source of the alarm. Facilities were contacted and HVAC and electrician staff responded. Friday, March 27 10:42 p.m. Members of the Oberlin Police Department reported a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Morgan Street and South Professor Street involving a student. Thursday, March 5 12:29 a.m. Officers received a report of a disorderly student at the ’Sco. ’Sco attendants turned away the student because the venue was at full capacity and the student became upset. The individual left before the officers arrived. 10:09 p.m. Residents of Barrows Hall reported a strong odor consistent with burnt marijuana on the second floor. Thursday, Feb. 26 2:30 p.m. A student reported the loss or theft of their iPhone from the Wilder Bowl area. The phone was not in a case. The estimated value of the phone was $150. 7:38 p.m. A facilities technician responded to a low temperature alarm on the first floor of Kahn Hall. The technician found the window open, causing the thermostat not to function. There was an odor of burnt incense, and the smoke detector was found off its base.
