 10:25 a.m. Safety and Security officers were requested to assist an ill student in Dascomb Hall. The student was taken in an ambulance to Mercy Allen Hospital for treatment. 12 p.m. Staff at the Science Center reported graffiti on the west side of the building. Thursday, Nov. 24 3:49 p.m. A Safety and Security officer on routine patrol noticed the roof hatch open on Johnson House. Upon checking the area, the officer found that the door leading to the roof hatch was unlocked and clothing was on the doorknob. No one was found in the area. A work order was filed to replace the padlock. 5:06 p.m. An officer conducting building security checks located an open window on the northwest side of Saunders House with a fan on drawing air from the room. There was no response from anyone inside the room. The officer turned the fans off and the window was secured from the outside of the building. Security Advisory An unknown suspect vandalized a faculty member’s house early yesterday morning. According to the Chronicle-Telegram, the call to police came in around 3:40 a.m. President Marvin Krislov and various deans sent an email to the student body warning students of the issue, and said that “the outside of [the faculty member's] home was vandalized and a note left behind that included anti-Semitic and threatening language.” Thursday, Nov. 10

Thursday, Nov. 3 8:45 a.m. Staff reported graffiti in black marker in a restroom on the first floor of Wilder Hall. A work order was filed for removal. Friday, Nov. 4 12:04 p.m. Safety and Security officers and members of the Oberlin Fire Department responded to a fire alarm on the second floor of Old Barrows. Steam from a shower triggered the alarm, which was reset. 2:31 p.m. Officers responded to a report of damaged merchandise at the Oberlin College Bookstore. Several items of clothing and tote bags were marked with a black marker. The value of the damaged items was estimated at $210. Members of the Oberlin Police Department also responded. Thursday, Oct. 27 12:31 a.m. Safety and Security officers assisted an intoxicated student at Barrows Hall. The student declined medical treatment at the time. The student’s roommate said they would be in the room for the remainder of the night and would call if necessary. 1:04 a.m. Officers and members of the Oberlin Fire Department responded to a re alarm at East Hall and smelled smoke coming from a room on the third floor. Officers found a grinder, glass pipe, what appeared to be residue from marijuana in plain view and a removed smoke detector head.  1:33 a.m. Safety and Security officers on routine patrol at Talcott Hall detected an odor of natural gas. Members of the Oberlin Fire Department responded. Columbia Gas personnel and an Oberlin College plumber also responded and found multiple stove burners left on, expelling gas. 12:10 p.m. Safety and Security officers and members of the Oberlin Fire Department responded to a re alarm at a village house on Union Street caused by smoke from cooking. 12:34 p.m. Safety and Security officers and members of the Oberlin Fire Department responded to a fire alarm, set off by smoke from burnt food, in the third-floor kitchenette of Baldwin Cot- tage. Thursday, Sept. 15 8:43 a.m. Safety and Security officers and members of the Oberlin Fire Department responded to a fire alarm in the basement of Johnson House caused by water dripping onto the detector. Electricians responded for repair. 1:06 p.m. A Safety and Security officer assisted an injured student on the east side of Bibbins Hall who fell backward over their bicycle and caught their ankle in the chain, creating a deep laceration. Thursday, Sept. 8 1:36 p.m. A resident of South Hall reported that an unknown person entered their unlocked room during the night and took approximately $60 from a pair of shorts that was later found in the hallway. Friday, Sept. 9 2:46 a.m. A resident of South Hall reported two unknown individuals taking money from their room. The individuals were identified, arrested and charged as a result of the theft. 11:14 p.m. Safety and Security officers responded to an unauthorized par- ty complaint at a village house on Wood- land Street and dispersed approximately 80 students. The student was transported to Mercy Allen Hospital for treatment. Saturday, Sept. 3 12:43 a.m. Safety and Security officers were requested to assist an intoxicated student at Fairchild House. Thursday, April 21 12 p.m. Facilities staff reported graffiti in the men’s restroom of the Service Building. The drawing was a figure done in marker. A work order was filed for cleanup. 6:44 p.m. A student reported a strong odor of marijuana on the first floor of Barrows Hall. Officers responded and traced the odor to a room. Though nothing was found burning, officers confiscated and disposed of alcohol that was in plain view. 10:11 p.m. Officers and members of the Oberlin Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at Firelands Apartments.
