Thursday, Feb. 27 12:53 a.m. – Officers were requested to assist a student who injured her ankle while playing Frisbee at Williams Field House. An ambulance was summoned and the student was transported to Mercy Hospital for treatment. 4:27 p.m. – Staff at Philips gym reported several individuals in the gym without proper passes. After speaking with officers, the individuals left the area. 4:30 p.m. – Officers on routine patrol observed non-offensive graffiti on the south exit door of Barrows Hall. The graffiti appeared to be done with white chalk, but could not be wiped off. A work order was filed for clean up. Friday, Feb. 28

Thursday, Feb. 20 9:36 a.m. Officers requested an ambulance for a student who slipped on the ice and injured her leg. The student was transported to Mercy Allen Hospital for treatment. 3 p.m. A staff member reported that she fell on the sidewalk between Peters Hall and King Building, receiving scrapes to both hands and her right knee. She declined medical treatment at the time. 10:50 p.m. Campus Dining Services staff members reported that they discovered a small plastic baggie containing a green leafy substance consistent with marijuana. Thursday, Feb. 6 12:17 p.m. Officers were requested to assist a student who slipped and fell on East College Street, injuring her arm. The student was transported to Mercy Allen Hospital for treatment. 1:00 p.m. Officers and members of the Oberlin Police Department responded to a report of a dog bite at the Union Street Housing Complex. The victim, a College employee, was transported to Mercy Allen Hospital for treatment. 3:56 p.m. Several faculty members reported that some of their textbooks had gone missing over Winter Term. Friday, Jan. 31 10:45 a.m. Student Union staff members reported a 4’ tall, 2’ wide circular table missing from the ’Sco. Members of the Oberlin Police Department were notified of the theft of the table, which is valued at approximately $500. 3:19 p.m. Officers and members of the Oberlin Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at the Union Street Housing Complex. Smoke from a dirty stove activated the alarm, which was then reset. 4:07 p.m. Officers responded to a strong odor consistent with burnt marijuana that appeared to come from a room on the first floor of South Hall. Thursday, Dec. 5  11:32 a.m. An Allen Memorial Art Museum security officer requested assistance with an ill student, who had fainted, at the museum. The student was transported to Mercy Allen Hospital for treatment.  10:42 p.m. An anonymous student called to report someone smoking on the fourth floor of Mudd library. When they arrived at the scene, the officers detected a cigarette odor and made contact with the nearby students. Both students denied smoking. The students were reminded of campus smoking policy. Thursday, Nov. 14 2:14 p.m. A student reported the loss of a black wallet, which was containing miscellaneous cards, a driver’s license and approximately $70. On Wednesday, Nov. 13 one of his debit cards was used at a café in downtown Oberlin. The student was advised to file a report with the Oberlin Police. 4:25 p.m. A student reported the theft of an unattended black backpack from the dance studio in South Hall. The backpack contained a MacBook laptop, notebook and miscellaneous items. The theft is under investigation. 2:05 p.m. The Bike Co-op staff reported a large sum of money missing from the co-op. Thursday, Nov. 7   5:22 p.m. Staff members reported the strong odor consistent with marijuana on the fifth floor of Firelands Apartments. Officers responded and the occupant denied smoking anything; they stated that the smell could be coming from burning incense. The student was advised of college policy on burning and smoking in the dorms.   5:36 p.m. Staff members reported the smell of smoke coming from a room on the second floor of Dascomb Hall. Thursday, Oct. 31 9:48 a.m. A resident of Langston Hall reported that the residue caused by spray painting in her room had activated the smoke detector. Officers responded and an electrician was requested to replace the detector head. Friday, Oct. 25 8:41 a.m. A custodial staff member reported a full-size couch missing from the first-floor lounge in Barrows Hall. The couch is patterned with blocks of blue, rust and brown and has three cushions. Wednesday, Oct. 2  2:19 a.m. Officers were requested to assist a student who injured her leg while walking near the King Building. The student was transported to Mercy Allen Hospital for treatment.  12:08 p.m. A student reported the theft of her bicycle from the northeast side of the Science Center. The bicycle is a women’s 26” Trek with yellow tape on the handlebars and an approximate value of $500. The bicycle was locked to itself at the time of the theft.  9:40 p.m. Staff members conducting Life Safety inspections located a glass bong with an odor of burnt marijuana in plain view in a room on the second floor of Talcott Hall. Thursday, Sept. 26 2:43 p.m. Safety and Security officers and EMTs assisted a student at the Conservatory. The student was transported to Mercy Allen Hospital for treatment of abdominal pain. Friday, Sept. 27 6:53 p.m. Officers responded to an alarm on the third floor of Langston Hall. Upon locating the room with the activated detector, a strong odor of burnt marijuana was detected throughout the room.    Thursday, Sept. 19  2:27 p.m. Staff at Philips gym reported a missing folding chair from an office on the first floor. It is a black padded chair reportedly valued at $125 with red and yellow lettering on the seat and back. 5 p.m. A Firelands Apartments resident reported an odor of natural gas on the first floor. Officers, members the Oberlin Fire Department, an HVAC technician and members from Columbia Gas responded.
