Thursday, April 7 8:57 a.m. Staff reported graffiti on the “LEEDS” parking sign north of the Kohl Building. The graffiti was written with a white paint marker. A work order was filed for clean up. 10:10 a.m. Wilder Hall staff recovered a black bag found in the ’Sco, which contained marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The items were turned over to the Oberlin Police Department. 12:18 a.m. Facilities staff reported an exit sign pulled down by a group of students on the first floor of South Hall.  12:31 a.m. Safety and Security officers were requested to assist an intoxicated student outside of Wilder Hall. After officers spoke to the student, and the student was escorted to Barrows Hall for the night. 1:43 p.m. An officer on patrol observed an ambulance at Dascomb Hall. Officers met with paramedics who were called to assist an ill staff member.  1:48 a.m. Officers were requested to assist a student ill from alcohol consumption on the second floor of Firelands Apartments. The student was found sleeping in the hall and was able to answer all questions asked. They were then escorted to their room for the night. 10:20 a.m. Science Center staff reported non-offensive writing on the wall in the upper level of Craig Lecture Hall. Sunday, Feb. 7 12:56 a.m. Staff reported an unauthorized party taking place at a village house on South Professor Street. Loud music was heard from outside. The party was closed down and approximately 150 party attendees were dispersed. 11:02 a.m. Officers and Oberlin Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at a Union Street apartment. Smoke from cooking was the cause of the alarm. Alarm was reset with no problems. 9:04 p.m. A student reported an activated smoke detector at a village house on Woodland Street. Thursday, Feb. 4 1:24 a.m. Officers were requested to assist an ill student on the third floor of Langston Hall. An ambulance was requested, and the student was transported to Mercy Allen Hospital for treatment. Friday, Feb. 5 7:49 a.m. Staff reported graffiti in the Rice/King Building elevator. A “Priority One” mailing label with writing on it was stuck to the ceiling of the elevator. Friday, Dec. 4 6:19 a.m. Safety and Security officers responded to a report of vandalism in the restroom on the third floor of Wilder Hall. Nail polish was thrown on several walls and doors and graffiti was written on the walls. SECURITY ADVISORY Abusua, Oberlin’s Black student union, sent an email to Afrikan Heritage House residents Tuesday regarding a verbal assault that allegedly took place in the Saunders Lounge around 1 p.m. on Monday. Students reported a middle-aged man with a southern accent shouting racial epithets and death threats. The witnesses called Safety and Security, but no perpetrator was identified and a security log showed only students swiping into the building. The detector sounded because it was dirty and an electrician replaced it. 8:22 a.m. Safety and Security officers responded to assist an injured student who fell off their bike at Philips gym. Thursday, Nov. 5 1:35 a.m. Officers responded to an activated roof alarm at Mudd library, where they found the main stairwell door ajar and the roof hatch open. No one was observed in the area. The officers secured the roof hatch and stairwell door. 12:51 p.m. Officers and members of the Oberlin Fire Department responded to a fire alarm on the first floor of Tank Hall. Steam from a shower had activated the alarm.
